New Name Coming Soon
OK. It's been decided we're going to change the name... but to what we still don't know yet. The new record is coming along very nicely. It's like... a hypnotic creamsicle.
I can't wait to start gigging out this new record as much as possible. I've started a post-mortem facebook page for the hummers too! that's a little weird...

the Hummers or not the Hummers
It's been a while now that we've been recovering from going from a 6 peice to a 3 peice then to a 4 peice. For those who don't know we've lost the party in the front and kept the business in the back, to make a mullet reference.
Now the hummers are Jason, Joel, Matt and Mark Penner on the guitar. What? No! How can you consider to call yourselves the Hummers you ask? That's a good question.
Immediately I think of Black Sabbath. They still called themselves Black Sabbath after they lost Ozzy... but was that a good idea? Were they really still Sabbath? Would it have been better to leave the memory of Sabbath untarnished?
We've been humming and hawing about whether or not to change the name. We'd still like to perform some of the old material and the material we're doing now is all stuff the hummers were working on and performing before the explosion... so to us it's still the hummers musically.
What I'm worried about is someone either booking us or coming to see us based on what we sounded like before. Should I really care or worry about that?
Considering the hummers started out as Joel Shane, Craig Bjerring and Joel Klaverkamp back in 1996 and then went on through numerous line-ups, each having their own sound... is this not par for the course?
Would love to know what you think if you've got an opinion on this. I've been hearing from both sides so...

Been a while. what's up?
Hello The Internet. It's been a long time since I've updated the site. Me, Jason and Matt are playing tonight at the Albert with Mark Penner from Moses Mayes. Yeah, we've been jamming...
We're opening for We are Wolves tonight, one of my new favourite bands. Following that we're going to... probably jam some more... and record some more.
so what have you been up to?
